In this short article, we’ll show you how easy it is to disable a payment method like PayPal for a specific shipping class using the Conditional Payment Gateways plugin. This is something you cannot do with WooCommerce, but this plugin helps you do it easily.
The first step is to install and activate the plugin, but if you already have it, you can skip this step.

Once you install it, you need to open it by going to WooCommerce > Conditional Payment Gateways.
Open the plugin
Once you open the plugin, click on Add condition to create a new condition to disable PayPal for a specific shipping class.
Disable a payment method for a specific shipping class
You need to establish these values in your new condition in order to disable a payment method for a specific shipping class.
- Add new condition – Enter the condition title
- Condition 1 – Contains shipping class = Lightweight (for example)
- What do you want to do – Disable the payment method(s)
- Select the payment methods – Paypal
- Click on Publish
Done!
Once you make those changes, you’ll have disabled the payment method for a specific shipping class.
